Rossman Media acquires Hook & Blade, an ‘Outsourced CMO’ agency to expand its B2B division.

The combined full-service agency offers expertise in social media, paid digital media, digital marketing, design, video production and web development.

PORTLAND, OR – Rossman Media, a social media agency out of Portland, Oregon, announced that they have acquired Hook & Blade, a ‘fractional CMO’ agency out of the Tampa Bay area. The combined companies will operate as Rossman Media, further establishing themselves as a leading global social media marketing agency.

“Every M&A decision we make goes through a comprehensive diligence process. Hook & Blade crossed off every box for us from strong leadership to client retention and unique differentiators like their Outsourced CMO business model,” said Alex Rossman, CEO of Rossman Media.

Rossman and Hook & Blade share a vision for strategy-first marketing services, and have historically been separated by their core competencies being B2C for Rossman, and B2B for H&B. The acquisition allows Rossman to grow its B2B division and adopt the customer journey, “Outsourced CMO” model that H&B utilizes. Joining forces will also provide clients stronger digital capabilities, specifically in areas such as creative direction, marketing strategy, and video storytelling.

The merger creates a company with 43 employees and a $6 million dollar run rate; of which over 90% is annualized recurring revenue. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The two agencies serve clients in a wide range of industries, from Airbnb to Saks 5th Avenue. H&B’s addition brings B2B expertise to industries such as healthcare, franchising, long-term care, sports, recruiting/staffing, mobility and more.
