New Nonprofit for the support of Caregivers of terminally ill loved ones, Larry McGee Foundation, collaborates with Local Magazine to hold the 2019 Local Arkansas Farmers Market Challenge by Logan Duvall

The Larry McGee Foundation has announced that the 2019 edition of the Local Arkansas Farmers Market Challenge will hold from July 1, 2019, to October 31, 2019. The challenge aims to support local farmers as well as businesses in the local market community in Arkansas.

The Natural State is home to an incredible array of people from different backgrounds and with diverse political ideologies, and beliefs. However, these differences completely fade away when people go out to little markets to shop for their wares with the major aim being putting a smile on the face of one another and enjoying every time spent together. Logan Duvall is looking to harness the unique feature of local markets in Arkansas to improve the lives of sellers in this case, farmers, and create a better shopping experience for customers with the Local Arkansas Farmers Market Challenge.

“The local market community in central Arkansas is rich and supported by patrons and other businesses, both large and small. Larry and Debbie McGee’s unintended start of Me & McGee Market brought me into the “Farmers Market” life, and it has been one of the greatest blessings,” said Logan Duvall.

Local Magazine and the Larry McGee Foundation have come together to promote experiencing local farmers markets. For the Local Farmers Market Challenge 2019, a Local Farmers Market is defined as any locally-owned venue in the state of Arkansas that sells products supporting local farmers and artisan food items. Such venues could range from a farm stand to a specialty grocery and booth space market.

The challenge will run from the 1st of July to the 31st of October, 2019 and draws will take place at Me and McGee Market on Saturday, November 2, 2019.

Challenge cards will be issued to be filled out by participants. Interested participants are required to follow the simple 3-step process highlighted as follows:

  1. Get Challenge Cards
  2. Visit 7 “Markets” and get the Challenge Card filled out
  3. Turn in completed Card to Me and McGee Market.

Updates and information about the event will be available on Facebook. The hashtag #localfarmersmarketchallenge2019 can be used to support the cause and spread the message. Check in on Facebook at different locations for a chance to win random giveaways.
