We Run the Parks – National Challenge Race To Take Place 05/02/2020

Tens of millions of people are in self-isolation. People’s fitness levels are decreasing. The National Challenge race aims to get people outdoors and increase their fitness while introducing them to amazing local parks.

2020 has been a very strange year. Tens of millions of people are stuck in Self-Isolation to avoid catching the coronavirus. While that is happening, people are eating more and exercising less which is causing people to become unfit and gain weight. To help people get their fitness back, and to introduce them to local parks and outdoor space, a national challenge race is set to take place on 05/02/2020.

The nationwide event which has been launched by 5Kevents is set to help people to get their fitness levels back. The events company which has already release a remote runner’s program to keep people active during the coronavirus crisis wants to get the whole nation together in May and celebrate exercising.

“We have launched a national and regional program called “We Run the Parks” designed to get people outdoors and exercising while enjoying local park trails. Let’s face it, for the next few months most of us will be vacationing and spending our summer in our own communities. The “We run the Parks” is a 6 month-challenge designed not only to get people off the couch, but to experience the many parks and recreational resources our communities have to offer. We’ve put a twist on things to challenge our residents to run, walk or hike as many different parks as possible,” explained a spokesman for 5Kevents.

Those taking part have the option to track their activity, distances and times via 5Kevents Remote Runners program. This national event will help people to not only improve their fitness and mental well-being but will also help people to reconnect to the outdoors.

5Kevents are hoping millions of people will come together and take up the challenge of exercising and dropping those excess pounds that they have gained during self-isolation. People will be able to discover and follow trails thanks to 5Kevents. With the navigation app they can track essential stats like distance, pace, splits and elevation.
