CCAMLR Science Invites Submissions on Topics Related to Marine Life Conservation

September 09 23:18 2019
The peer-reviewed journal of CCAMLR Science is published annually, and is accepting articles on topics of conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources.

For the conservation of Antarctic Marine Living, a convention was enacted in 1982, with a primary goal of conserving the marine living resources in the area. The conservation of these marine living resources requires a lot of efforts, awareness and research on the marine life. In order to focus on various issues of the conservation of the marine life, both from micro and macro level perspectives, the CCAMLR Science journal is published every year. The journal is now open for contributions from researchers and scholars in this field. The next issue is expected to be published in November, 2019, and one can start submitting their papers now.

CCAMLR Science Invites Submissions on Topics Related to Marine Life Conservation

The journal mainly focuses on the topics of Aquatic Science, Ecology, Fisheries, Animal Science and so on. Interested scholars can send papers that can cover topics of ecology of marine species, ecological interactions, fishery management and various issues that can prove relevant to the conservation of the marine ecosystem in the Antarctica. The latest issue of the journal and its articles are available in the PDF format on the journal’s website. One can glimpse through the articles of Vol. 25 of the CCAMLR Science ISSN: 1023-4063 to get an idea what type of articles they publish. Most of these articles bring a deep insight on the issues and challenges in the areas of conservation of the Antarctic marine life. In the changing environmental scenario, the marine living resources are being adversely affected and this could be detrimental to the sustenance of the marine eco-system in the Antarctica.

Many environmentalists and conservationists are in favor of using marine resources rationally. However, an indiscriminate use of living resources in the ocean is misbalancing the ecosystem.  The journal explores all such pertinent issues and contributors are encouraged to submit evidence based papers that can draw the attention of the policy makers, influencers and others. The focus must be on saving all species of the marine ecosystem and ensure their sustainable growth. The paper submitted by the authors can cover historical contexts, but should also reiterate on the preservation purview and functions, which can allow the harmonious growth of the marine living resources in the Antarctica.

For the conservation of the Antarctic living organisms, the Australian Antarctic Division plays a pivotal role, and this journal can have its own importance in the scientific policy making to encourage conservation.  One can check their online archive where all the previous issues are available for reading and brainstorming. Contributors are encouraged to submit their original, research based articles as early as possible through the online mode. For submission, one just needs to register and login online on their website and submit the article.
