Chinese Congress on Oncology held in Hangzhou

The 2022 Chinese Congress on Oncology (CCO) was held in Hangzhou, capital of East China’s Zhejiang province from Nov 17 to 20.

The event was sponsored by the China Anti-Cancer Association and organized by the Zhejiang Cancer Hospital, the Zhejiang Anti-Cancer Association and the Zhejiang Cancer Foundation.

Considered the largest and most influential academic event in the field of oncology science popularization in China, this year’s event was attended by academicians, experts and scholars, medical staff and patient representatives from all over the country who discussed topics related to cancer prevention and treatment.

Fan Daiming, an academician of the China Academy of Engineering, the chairman of the China Anti-Cancer Association, and the chairman of the 2022 CCO, spoke about cancer prevention and treatment. The first national cartoon visual of cancer prevention and treatment was also released at the congress.

In addition, the first national cancer prevention and treatment science popularization digital museum was officially launched at the conference to further improve science popularization and promote the normalization of science popularization.

A six-month science popularization activity was also launched. The activity will see hundreds of experts, scholars and medical staff from Jiaxing, Zhejiang province carry out cancer prevention and treatment science popularization throughout the country.

Popular science education bases of the Anti-Cancer Association are currently being built across China. At present, 327 popular science bases involving 11 cancer types have been built nationwide, and more than 150,000 books on the topic have been distributed.
